The Municipality of Bled hosted on 19th and 20th May the Final Event of the GEMS project, “Integration and Solidarity Models for a Sustainable and European Alpine Future”.
The event crowned two years of intensive project activities consisting in network exchanges and debates around the future of Alpine communities and of the EU as a whole. Thanks to an innovative communication strategy implemented by the local partner, Municipality of Bled, the event benefited from high visibility at national and transnational level.
One of the most important highlights of the event was the signature of the Friendship Agreement by all GEMS partners, during a public ceremony, attended, among others, by Ms. Eva Štravs Podlogar, Slovenian State Secretary.
By signing the agreement partners committed publicly to future cooperation within the network as well as to continue to promote the values of solidarity and diversity across the Alpine region and beyond. In fact, although GEMS project has come to an end, the GEMS network continues its activities and exchanges. Visit GEMS website and Facebook page for more information about forthcoming activities.
